1% for the Tetons funds sustainability-related projects in the Tetons area.
Since its inception, 1% for the Tetons (1%T) has relied exclusively on members’ donations to fund these projects. To fund more projects, 1%T will now allow non-members – both individuals and businesses – to donate to the project proposals it receives.
This year, 1% for the Tetons has received proposals for 19 projects it considers worthy of funding. Fully funding all 19 projects (the “Finalists”) will cost $300,000. Both the 19 projects and the $300,000 are more than 1%T has ever before funded in one year.
To raise the $300,000, 1% for the Tetons is running a four week-long fundraising drive called “One28: 1% for the Tetons; 28 Days of Funding Our Future.” Beginning this week, 1%T is running an extensive marketing campaign to draw attention to the Finalist projects. It will also encourage the Finalists to solicit donations from non-members to augment those they will receive from 1%T members.
One28 begins Saturday, May 8, at our inaugural Sustainability Grants Conference, and end at midnight on Saturday, June 5, at a celebration party at the Q Roadhouse. Donations to the different Finalist projects can be made here at the 1% for the Tetons website (fundraising page to be launched Saturday!), and will be accepted between 12:00:00 am on Sunday, May 9 and 11:59:59 pm on Saturday, June 5.
Throughout the next four weeks, 1%T will be doing everything possible to raise awareness for this program. We invite you to check back regularly here at this blog, join our email list (in the header above) and like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
